Six venues, four shows, one afternoon
Fashion Week is not a single event at a single address. It is dozens of shows scattered across the far West Side, Chelsea and Hudson Square, running to a schedule that shifts daily and rarely starts on time. Getting between them is most of the job.
The venues are where the subway is not
The Starrett-Lehigh Building, Chelsea Piers, Skylight Clarkson Square and the spaces around Hudson Yards all sit west of Tenth Avenue. That is a long walk from any train, in heels, often in February.
It is also an area where a car cannot simply idle outside. Loading restrictions, event security and the sheer number of vehicles arriving at once mean the drop-off point matters as much as the address.

Hold the car, do not release it
Between shows you have twenty minutes and a garment bag. Summoning a new car each time is how people miss things. Hourly hire is the only structure that works during this week.
Plan the drop-off, not just the address
Which side of the building, which cross street, where security will actually let a car stop. We confirm this before the day rather than circling on the day.
Build in the overrun
Shows start late. A schedule built on published times will fall apart by the third venue. We plan around what actually happens.

International arrivals
New York is the first stop of Fashion Month before London, Milan and Paris. Buyers arrive from everywhere, often on tight turnarounds. Private aviation at Teterboro is common.
After-parties and dinners
The evening runs longer than the day and ends unpredictably. Downtown, Meatpacking, wherever the night goes. The car waits.

Plus dozens of independent shows and presentations in galleries, lofts and hotels across Chelsea, SoHo and the Lower East Side.
Two seasons a year
February presents Fall and Winter collections. Cold, and the walk from a subway to a West Side venue is the longest of the year.
September presents Spring and Summer. It also collides with UN General Assembly week in some years, which makes Midtown considerably harder at the same time.
Official dates are confirmed by the CFDA a few weeks ahead. Independent shows are announced later still. Book the vehicle before the schedule firms up rather than after.

When is New York Fashion Week?
Twice a year, in February and September. February shows Fall and Winter collections; September shows Spring and Summer. The Council of Fashion Designers of America confirms the official schedule a few weeks beforehand, and independent shows are announced later.
Should I book hourly or individual transfers?
Hourly, without much doubt. Shows overrun, schedules move, and the gaps between venues are short. A car already waiting is worth far more than a cheaper transfer you have to summon.
Can the car hold bags and garment bags between shows?
Yes, and most clients use it that way. On hourly hire the vehicle stays with you, so coats, samples and equipment do not have to be carried around all day.
Can you handle a whole team?
Yes. A 14-seat Sprinter takes models, dressers and equipment together. For larger productions we run coaches.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can. Fashion Week concentrates demand into one week across a small part of the city, and the best vehicles commit early. Do not wait for the final schedule.
