Booking and pricing

The questions we answer most on the phone

If your question is about a particular service, each service page has its own answers at the foot of it. This page covers the things people ask whatever they are booking.

How much does a car service cost in New York?

There is no single number, because a LaGuardia run to Midtown and a Newark run to Greenwich are not comparable journeys. Four things set the price: which vehicle, which route, whether you need a flat transfer or hourly hire, and the date. We quote a firm figure before you book. See what actually drives limo pricing in New York for the full explanation.

How much does a car service from JFK to Manhattan cost?

We quote a flat rate before you book, based on the vehicle and destination rather than a meter. Tolls, parking and gratuity are inside that figure, so the number we give you is the number you pay. Send us the trip and you will have a firm price within minutes.

Do you charge surge pricing?

No. The rate is fixed when you book and does not change with demand, weather, traffic or the hour. This is deliberate. Demand pricing raises the fare exactly when a passenger is most stuck, and we would rather have a rider who comes back than a good margin on one bad night.

What is included in the price?

The chauffeur for the full booking, fuel, tolls, parking and mileage on the agreed route, flight tracking on airport transfers, and wait time on arrivals. Additional stops or extra hours are agreed with you before anything is added. See our rates page.

Is there a minimum booking?

Airport and point-to-point transfers have no minimum. Hourly bookings — weddings, proms, nights out, full business days — carry a minimum number of hours which varies by vehicle and date. We confirm it in the quote, before you commit.

How far in advance should I book?

Twenty-four hours is comfortable for a standard airport transfer. Weddings, proms and large group bookings should be reserved weeks ahead, particularly in May, June, September and December. New Year’s Eve and marathon Sunday are the two dates we most often run out of vehicles.

How do I pay?

Card for individual bookings. Corporate account clients are invoiced monthly rather than paying per trip. Ask us when you book if you need a particular arrangement.

Airports and flights

Arrivals, delays and meeting points

Do you serve JFK, LaGuardia and Newark?

All three, plus Teterboro, Westchester County, Long Island MacArthur and Stewart. Journey times vary considerably: LaGuardia is roughly 20 to 40 minutes from Midtown, JFK 45 to 75, and Newark 45 to 90.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing on your end. We track the flight number and move the pickup automatically. There is no rebooking fee and no delay charge. We allow 60 minutes of complimentary wait time on international arrivals and 30 on domestic.

Where will my chauffeur meet me?

In the arrivals hall with a name board by default, with luggage assistance. If you prefer curbside we confirm the exact door by text once you have landed. Tell us your airline when booking so we can confirm the correct terminal in advance.

Do you cover private aviation?

Yes, including Teterboro and the FBO facilities at the major airports. Send us the operator and tail number and we coordinate with the FBO directly rather than leaving you to make calls from the aircraft.

Can you handle an airport-to-airport transfer?

Yes, and it is routine work. Allow 60 to 90 minutes between airports depending on the pair and the time of day, and send us both flight numbers so we can track each leg.

Vehicles and groups

Which vehicle, and how many people

How many passengers can you take?

From one to fifty-five. Executive sedans seat up to three, luxury SUVs up to six, Mercedes Sprinter vans up to fourteen, and charter coaches up to fifty-five. See the full fleet.

What do I need for a group of ten?

A single fourteen-seat Sprinter, with room to spare for luggage. Two SUVs would also work but cost more and mean the group arrives separately.

Do you have a party bus?

Not in the nightclub-coach sense — no poles, no stocked bar. What we run for parties is a fourteen-passenger Sprinter, with minibuses and coaches for larger groups. See party transport for exactly what that is and is not.

Are child seats available?

Yes — infant, toddler and booster seats on request, at no additional charge. Tell us the children’s ages when booking so we send the right ones.

Can I request a specific vehicle?

You can request a class and we will confirm availability. An individual vehicle cannot always be guaranteed, and we would rather tell you that than promise and substitute on the day.

Are your vehicles wheelchair accessible?

Contact us with your requirements before booking and we will tell you honestly what we can arrange.

Services and coverage

What we do and where we go

Which areas do you serve?

All five boroughs of New York City, plus Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties including the Hamptons, northern New Jersey including Hoboken, Jersey City and Newark, and Connecticut including Greenwich and Stamford. Longer journeys to Philadelphia, Boston, Washington and the Hudson Valley are quoted on request.

Are you available 24 hours?

Yes, every day of the year including holidays. Flights land at four in the morning and weddings end at two — a service that only works during office hours is not much use to either.

Do you offer corporate accounts?

Yes. Accounts get consolidated monthly invoicing instead of dozens of receipts, multiple authorised bookers so assistants can book without approval loops, agreed rates on routine routes, and priority dispatch when demand is tight. See corporate car service.

Do you do weddings?

Yes — bridal cars, wedding party transport and guest shuttles. We plan backwards from the ceremony time rather than forwards from the pickup. For weddings between May and October, book three to six months ahead. See wedding transport.

Do you provide transport for funerals?

Yes — family cars, procession vehicles and mourner transport, coordinated with your funeral director. We do not provide the hearse; that is arranged by the director. Short notice is accepted wherever a vehicle is free. See funeral transport.

Can I book a car by the hour?

Yes, and for some days it is the better choice. With three or more stops, uncertain timings, or an evening that will end when it ends, hourly hire means the car waits rather than being released and re-summoned.

Is a car service worth it over a rideshare app?

For some journeys, honestly, no — a short crosstown hop at midday is a hard case to make. Where it clearly wins is airport arrivals, groups of four or more, days with several stops, anything with a hard deadline, and peak nights when surge pricing is at its worst. We have written a fuller answer.
